For age-specific mortality, the inbreeding load is expressed as an age-independent component (Lα) and an age-dependent component (Lβ) (see materials and methods). All estimates were obtained by weighted least-squares regression. The standard errors associated with each estimate are given in parentheses. *Significant values, P < 0.01.
