  • a Crossing was performed as described in the Figure 4 legend, and data were pooled from several crosses to score ∼100 independent progeny colonies. Crossing 1 was performed between wild-type mt+ having erR (7024E) and mt having specR (7003A); crossings 2 and 3 were performed between the wild-type 7024E and transgenic mt lines, nos. 53 and 107, respectively.
