The residue pair 1467 + 1584 in sequences from Nigeria 1, Nigeria 3, and Nigeria 4 show an intermediate state (GU) of the AU to GC compensatory change. Pairs at positions 1470 + 1581, 1768 + 1773, and 1960 + 1976 show compensatory changes without intermediate states.
