The sample size is the number of chromosomes taken at each of six time points. The composite parameter SSAL = (sample size) × (no. of alleles per locus - 1) × (no. of loci). This set of combinations was used for populations that grew from N_{A} = 20 to N_{0} = 200 and contracted from N_{A} = 200 to N_{0} = 20. Further details are in the text.
