↵a The coefficient of coincidence is the number of observed double crossovers (DCOs) divided by the number of expected DCOs. The expected number is calculated by assuming that crossovers in adjacent intervals occur independently of each other using the following equation: (T_{I} + NPD_{I}/total_{I})(T_{II} + NPD_{II}/total_{II})(total no. tetrads). I, interval I; II, interval II; T, tetratype; NPD, nonparental ditype. The observed number is based on those asci in which either a T or an NPD has occurred in both I and II.
