  • b Hermaphrodites of the C. briggsae strain BW1850 mih-3(s1290) were mated to males of the same genotype and then injected with dsRNA of the Cb-her-1 gene. Progeny were scored from nine animals that produced >30% males before injection, indicating that mating had been successful.

  • c Hermaphrodites of the wild-type C. briggsae strain AF16 were mated to BW1850 males and then injected with dsRNA of the Cb-her-1 gene. The presence of greater than a few percent males in the progeny from before injection was taken to indicate that mating had been successful. Progeny were scored from eight injected animals.

  • d Hermaphrodites of the wild-type C. elegans strain N2 were mated to him-8(e1489) males and then injected with dsRNA of the C. elegans her-1 gene. Progeny were scored from one animal that produced more than a few percent males before injection, indicating that mating had been successful.
