There seems to be some confusion regarding the fate-map location of thoracic muscle in Drosophila melanogaster stemming from information contained in Figure 11. It is misleading in that the map location of landmark TM (thoracic muscle) can not be taken as evidence for the true map location of muscle, as is discussed in the text (p. 604). The data on this landmark were inadvertently supplied by Kankel and Hall to me and are known to be meaningless owing to technical difficulties.
